Being Thankful...

With Thanksgiving this week I cant help but think of all the things that I am thankful for. I came across the article below and its so right on.

I found the below this morning over at Trying to Stay Calm

What a perfect time of year for this~
Living in thanksgiving daily is a habit that will enrich our lives and the lives of those we l♥ve...

It isn't what you have in your pocket that makes you thankful, but what you have in your heart.
It is impossible to feel grateful and depressed in the same moment.~ Naomi Williams ~

Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles and they can become your blessings.

I am thankful to all of you that follow this blog!May the Lord bless you and your families during this Thanksgiving Holiday season :) ♥ Hugs!

Confession: I want to be a Martha or Bree with my holiday parties

With the holidays approaching and festivities starting to be planned I want to be a Martha. I want to throw amazing functions that wow people. I really wish to have it all together like Martha and Bree. I wish that my house was perfect all the time and that dinner was always something amazing. But lets face it. I have a 13 month old, 2 dogs and a husband. So my house is crazy. I try the best I can to keep everything together and in place, but it doesn't always work. So as I am getting ready for the holidays I have been working on organizing and cleaning things out to make room for all the new goodies we get. I have cleaned out Austin's closet and gone thru his toys, I am working on our stuff. I have my pantry all organized again (I will have to get a photo of it-I am so proud and I know it wont last for too long).

I am hosting a Tiny Tot Holiday Party for my moms group so I have been starting to look for cute things to make and do. Below are a few things I have found.

Hostest With The Mostest rocks. Below are some of her party decoration ideas. She is AMAZING. Most of her settings are budget friendly and stuff you already have around the house.

Shopping update

Below are the new clothes I went and got for myself in the last two days. I am so excited. I still have to go thru everything that is already in my closet that I don't wear and weed thru it all. Maybe tonight after my little man goes to bed. I also still need to get some new shoes but I haven't found anything yet in my size that I really like. But I think I am off to a good start on getting some style back.

Confession: I'm not what I used to be

As I posed this on my family blog this morning I realize I am just not what I used to be anymore and I have to be happy with that. I used to be a size 2, OK lets get real that's probably never going to happen again. That is, unless I get sick and cant eat for a month, which isn't too realistic. So I need to make do with what I have and be happy. That doesn't mean that I am not going to try to start eating better and living a healthy lifestyle (for those that don't know me~I don't eat veggies or fruits- I am a cheese and fried chicken kind of girl).

But I am going to give up on fitting back into my old clothes. So today I am going to pack them all up and give them away. Of course there are some that I will keep in storage (like the stuff I wore right before I got preggers with my son), I just cant let those go yet. But anything below a size 6 in pants or small shirts are out of here. There is just no reason to keep them. If I was to ever fit in them again the will probably be out of style.

With that said, I will be needing some new clothes. As of right now I have 2 pairs of pants without elastic that fit and maybe 3 shirts that I actually feel comfortable wearing out of the house. I also only have 2 pairs of decent shoes that are not crocs so I might need to get some of those too. And lets face it those little undies from the pre preggers days are going to fit this mama anytime soon. But at the same time I can toss the "granny panties" from my pregnancy. So I am off to Kohls today besides there biggest sale of the season, year, or lifetime that they are having today, they have suckered me in with a 15% off coupon on my entire purchase. So I will be heading there today for a little retail therapy. Just because I work from home and don't go out a whole lot~doesn't mean that I have to look frumpy all the time. So I am off to get some new clothes "Mama's Bringing Sexy Back" , OK I wont go that far but I am off to get some clothes that make me feel good about myself. Who knows maybe next week I will get my hair cut and colored (which I haven't had done since LAST NOVEMBER).

Me Now
Me Then. I started to bust out the high school photos but that's not fair.
